Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
Indian Photographer Database ("IWPH", "we", "us", or "our") operates indianphotographerdatabase.in as a photographer discovery, profile, review, enquiry, and directory platform. This Privacy Policy explains the information we process when you use the website, create an account, maintain a photographer profile, submit feedback, or send an enquiry.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:
- Account information: name, email address, account type, authentication identifiers, and information required to maintain your account.
- Photographer profile information: business name, contact details, location and service areas, portfolio images, biography, services, styles, pricing indications, awards, verification status, and other information submitted for a public profile.
- Enquiry and booking information: name, email, phone number, event date, location, event details, shoot duration, budget, and the photographer or service you are enquiring about.
- Reviews and feedback: rating, comment, reviewer name, optional email, account association when available, and submission date.
- Technical and usage information: browser and device information, IP-derived request information, cookies or similar storage used for authentication and interface preferences, and information processed by infrastructure, analytics, or advertising providers used on the site.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate and improve the platform, including to:
- create and maintain user accounts and photographer profiles;
- display public photographer listings, portfolios, prices, ratings, reviews, awards, and other profile information;
- process enquiries, booking requests, reviews, award applications, and quote requests;
- support search, comparison, location pages, curated lists, and other discovery features;
- moderate content, maintain platform integrity, investigate abuse, and enforce platform rules;
- communicate about enquiries, account activity, support, and service administration;
- measure site performance and, where enabled, support advertising or other third-party services.
3. Public profile information
Photographer profiles are intended to be publicly discoverable. Information added to a public photographer profile—including business identity, location, portfolio, service information, prices, ratings, awards, and contact details selected for display—may be visible to visitors and search engines. Do not place private or sensitive information in a field intended for public display.
4. Enquiries, bookings, and quote requests
Information submitted through enquiry, booking, or quote-request features is used to process the request and connect the request with relevant photographers or the IWPH administrative team. Quote-request contact details are not intended for public display. Depending on the workflow, event requirements may first be reviewed by the platform and relevant details may be shared with selected photographers before contact details are disclosed through the applicable lead process.
5. Reviews and feedback
Review content may be associated with a photographer profile and may be displayed to authenticated users or otherwise used by the platform according to the current review workflow. We may retain reviewer identity or email information for moderation, integrity, support, and abuse-prevention purposes even when that information is not publicly displayed.
6. Service providers and third-party processing
IWPH uses third-party technology providers to operate the service. This includes Google/Firebase services used for hosting, authentication, database, storage, and related infrastructure. The site may also load advertising or other third-party services, including Google services, which may process technical information or use cookies according to their own policies and applicable consent requirements.
7. Cookies and session data
The platform uses cookies or similar browser storage where needed for authentication sessions, account security, interface preferences, and third-party services. You can control many browser cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may prevent login or other account features from working correctly.
8. Data retention and account records
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, maintain account and transaction history, resolve disputes, enforce platform rules, meet legal obligations, and protect the integrity of reviews and enquiries. Retention periods can differ by record type and operational requirement.
9. Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the platform, including authenticated account access and server-side controls for sensitive operations. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their passwords and account access.
10. Your choices and requests
You may update information available through your account or profile controls where provided. For questions about access, correction, account deletion, profile information, or another privacy request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
11. Children
The platform is intended for adults arranging photography services and professional photographers. It is not designed as a service for children to create independent accounts or submit personal information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the platform, legal requirements, or our data practices change. The "Last updated" date on this page identifies the current version.
13. Contact us
Privacy and account questions can be sent to support@indianphotographerdatabase.in or through our contact page.
